This and that

Lazy-Woman's Blog:

1. Cooper and Parker started the latest round of swimming lessons. This is Parker's first, Cooper has been going twice a year since 6 months.

2. Cooper starts soccer this weekend. He's part of Team Thunder :) Kevin pointed out (after seeing the other parents' email addresses) that one of the children's parents is a lawyer- we are hoping Cooper doesn't choose this child to tackle.. 3.  Parker seems to get teeth in bunches. He is currently getting three of the four one year molars.
4. I started posting pictures using Istagram, because on top of the blog, Pinterest, Facebook and life, I wanted ONE more thing to consume my time.
5. I'm currently campaigning for a family dog. Kevin's response- "I vehemently oppose"
6. Every time daycare sends the boys snow gear home- it snows.
7. I'm going to be an aunt again the end of May. Mike, Delayne and Alex will welcome the yet to be named little girl sometime around May 22. 

8. Nick and Melissa also made me an aunt again! ;) They now have a beautiful standard poodle named Bella!

9. My dad can't seem to get a break. He spent 18 years toting the three of us around and now Angelica has him busier than ever! Dance, violin, clarinet, piano, softball, swimming- she's one busy gal!
10. Life is good.
11. Oh ya- I needed to get glasses

How very appropriate on this Cinco de Mayo that today marks 16 weeks, making the baby about the size of an avocado! Measuring about 4" to 5" and weighing about 3.5 ounces. This week the baby's tiny ears are developing enough to hear my voice. Eyelashes, eyebrows and are are starting to fill in and taste buds are forming. Apparently something that also goes along with being 4 months pregnant is congestion. This along with my already nagging allergies has made for some very itchy eye mornings and pressured induced headaches. Small price to pay I know.

Starting to feel like a Bloomin' Onion

17 weeks! Whew! It's going so quickly. Today we sent our registration for parenting and birthing classes at the hospital where the baby will be born. There's only one spot left for the class we want, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that we get in. I think it will be very interesting to see what they teach and talk about during these classes. I just feel like I can't possibly learn enough about everything going on. Here's an update on baby's growth: Five inches long and more than three and a half ounces...about the size of an onion. The baby can now even hear what's going! Loud noises like a dog barking, doorbell ringing will actually startle the baby. The babies are are getting strong enough to perceive some light and the baby is busy learning to suck on swallow. Within a week or so the pads on the baby's fingertips and toes will develop fingerprints. I've also read that my appetite is sure to increase these next few weeks. I get full pretty qui...

Orange you glad there's a baby in there?

15 weeks!! It is hard to believe that we are nearly four months into this journey. Time is flying but Kevin and I both are still pretty calm about the enormous change that is coming this fall. Maybe the excitement is masking the nervousness of it all. Yesterday I wrote that I had to break out the BellaBand, well today my pants fit so we're not to the point of no return yet. Being in my second trimester though I'm anticipating the weight to start adding up. On average women gain about a pound a week during this time. When I told that to Kevin he didn't seem to impressed. Then I gave him a visual- picture one pound of hamburger meat being added to your body every week. "Well when you put it that way." As of this morning I've lost a half pound putting me at a weight gain of 6.5 pounds in these (nearly) four months. Baby is still teeny tiny: About 4 inches long and about 2 1/2 ounces.
