New Employer

I'd like to introduce to you my new CEO and CFO....

Although I have been a full-time "employee" of these two fine gentlmen for three and half years I will no longer be telecommuting from my salaried job. As of the end of this month (today) I am officially a full time stay at home mom! This decision has been a year in the making and it was finally time to just do it. There were a combination of things to lead to me being brave enough to take the plunge, but now I'm here and could not be more excited.
I've been mentally preparing  myself for the transition that needs to happen. Everyone has a new schedule to adjust to, a new budget, a new lifestyle essentially.
I've received so many different reactions to this change. From the uber great reactions like Kevin being fully on board and encouraging me to do what will make me happier, former co-workers excited for me and this opportunity (the most common phrases include- "Good for you!" and "This will be so good for your family.") To other reactions of some questioning how I could "give up" seven years, a salary, adult conversation :) 
I guess maybe because I grew up with both of my parents always home with us, it's just the way I want to live my life. I've already given up a huge chunk of these past three years of my little boys' lives. I know this isn't a reality or a desire for other moms/dads but its mine and always has been.
I am looking forward to SO many adventures with these two incredible boys- stay tuned, we'll take you along for the ride! If you want to come hang out, please let me know!

that's exciting. yay for you making your dream happen.

i also quit my "day job" this past January, after working almost three years. it's been an adjustment but so good to be home finally full time with my kids.

My second year of college was not going to be what I had imagined. Come to think of it, my first year wasn't really what I had imagined either, but that's another post. The school I was attending had a "rule" which I saw more as a guideline, that first and second year students needed to live on campus. KARE 11, Are You Hiring?

A few months ago my husband and I had some rare one on one conversation time as we traveled to a friend's wedding in St. Cloud. During the car ride topics bounced from the boys to whatever was on the radio, back to the boys, to an upcoming trip he would be taking for work, back to the boys and so on. My husband has been with the same company since graduating college, a rare feat these days I think considering that some of our friends have been with a handful of different companies in that same time. He loves his career! It challenges him, it makes him think, it is rewarding and he has opportunities to grow in his profession. Beauty Queen to BoyMom

I remember very vividly walking through the Pamida parking lot near my hometown, talking to my mom in the way only a 5 year old girl can, “When I grow up and I’m a mom I’m only going to have girls.” My mom (also the mother of two little boys) smiled and said “little boys are really nice too you know.” But I was certain I would have two or three little girls just like me; in love with sparkles and the color pink,  attending dance classes and girl scout meetings, searching the aisles for the newest Barbie and someday maybe even competing in pageants like I did.  Fast forward twenty some years to the birth of my husband and my first child, a healthy, red headed, nearly 9lb BOY.  Cooper Day 1 Parker Day 1 Jump ahead another two years to when we would meet our second child, a healthy, red headed, nearly 9lb BOY.
