Attack of the late night munchies

Last night I was forced to eat handful after handful of Chicago mix popcorn... :-) so the day wasn't totally healthy. But it could have been worse...the ice cream was also calling my name.

Today skipped getting up at 4:45 in exchange for a few more hours sleep and a home workout.

30 minutes cardio
Squats
Lunges
Abs

Food:
Coffee
1 egg, egg whites of two eggs with salsa
24oz water

Banana and homemade protein bar mid morning

Typical lunch of large kale salad with tuna
24oz water

Afternoon snack was homemade protein bar

Dinner also to be determined.... Will update later but will likely be chicken, green veggie ( the boys will get some kind of pasta or bread with it as we'll and fruit)

Update- pulled BBQ chicken sandwiches

Also trying out adding lemon to my water. I don't like the idea of adding enamel eroding acid to my water, but I recently read how much good lemon can do for your liver... I need to read more on that though.

It's freezing here today so LOTS of indoor fun with the boys in store today. As I stand in the kitchen in sweats I'm reminded how awesome it is to stay at home with these two handsome little guys.

Hi Jacquelyn! Saw your blog noted on your LinkedIn page and had to check it out. I, too, am devoted to working out and eating right. My latest focus is on eliminating GMOs as much as possible from our diet by buying organic ingredients for most of our foods. And kale is one of my favorites, too. Hope you are doing well. How very appropriate on this Cinco de Mayo that today marks 16 weeks, making the baby about the size of an avocado! Measuring about 4" to 5" and weighing about 3.5 ounces. This week the baby's tiny ears are developing enough to hear my voice. Eyelashes, eyebrows and are are starting to fill in and taste buds are forming. Apparently something that also goes along with being 4 months pregnant is congestion. This along with my already nagging allergies has made for some very itchy eye mornings and pressured induced headaches. Small price to pay I know.

Starting to feel like a Bloomin' Onion

17 weeks! Whew! It's going so quickly. Today we sent our registration for parenting and birthing classes at the hospital where the baby will be born. There's only one spot left for the class we want, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that we get in. I think it will be very interesting to see what they teach and talk about during these classes. I just feel like I can't possibly learn enough about everything going on. Here's an update on baby's growth: Five inches long and more than three and a half ounces...about the size of an onion. The baby can now even hear what's going! Loud noises like a dog barking, doorbell ringing will actually startle the baby. The babies are are getting strong enough to perceive some light and the baby is busy learning to suck on swallow. Within a week or so the pads on the baby's fingertips and toes will develop fingerprints. I've also read that my appetite is sure to increase these next few weeks. I get full pretty qui...

Orange you glad there's a baby in there?

15 weeks!! It is hard to believe that we are nearly four months into this journey. Time is flying but Kevin and I both are still pretty calm about the enormous change that is coming this fall. Maybe the excitement is masking the nervousness of it all. Yesterday I wrote that I had to break out the BellaBand, well today my pants fit so we're not to the point of no return yet. Being in my second trimester though I'm anticipating the weight to start adding up. On average women gain about a pound a week during this time. When I told that to Kevin he didn't seem to impressed. Then I gave him a visual- picture one pound of hamburger meat being added to your body every week. "Well when you put it that way." As of this morning I've lost a half pound putting me at a weight gain of 6.5 pounds in these (nearly) four months. Baby is still teeny tiny: About 4 inches long and about 2 1/2 ounces.
